I have this strange attraction to all things zombie/apocolypse. While I fear such uneventful ocassions, I can't help but get excited to a play games like Minigore (iTunes). You play as John Gore in the middle of a forest where you're armed with an machine gun and unlimited ammo or a limited shotgun. The game has no instructions with only the left blue analog to move around and the right red analog to shoot around. Little black furry creatures of some sort slowly begin to move in your direction and after shooting enough, you see a four leaf clover on the ground which you can pick up. After shooting a few more in addition to some larger versions, collecting three four leaf clovers sets you on fire where you can run around and destroy all creatures in your path. But soon enough you realize that you can't go that far.
So when do you beat this game? You don't. It's a never ending game with a High Score leaderboard. Minigore is displayed as "Episode One" suggesting that other levels, weapons, and story lines will be unveiled when a new version is created and available in the App Store. The "cute" landscape and characters make the smooth gameplay and easy addiction well worth the $0.99 spent. It's unknown whether or not episodes will be given in the form of an update or an entirely new game to purchase. I can only hope that future releases will only grow to be more exciting than the last.
Minigore (App Store) Category: Games Seller: Chillingo Ltd Version: 1.0 (iPhone OS 3.0 Tested) Price: $0.99 Rating: 5 out of 5
By the way, my high score is currently 6166.
